STEAM Tours provide an opportunity to share Storrowton Village's history through the lens of science, technology, engineering, art, and math. The mid-19th century was rich with change, innovation, and the start of industrialization. This tour seeks to bridge between the early days of American industrialization and the fast-paced, tech-heavy world we are in today. STEAM tours last approximately 90 minutes to two hours and are available Saturdays on the hour at 10AM - 3PM from July 1 through July 22.
Visitors will learn about innovations used in each of the unique buildings in the museum and engage in three hands-on activities throughout the tour. This tour is targeted to ages 6-12, however all ages are welcome. Activities vary by season and availability of supplies, examples of activities include making mini catapults, sun prints, kaleidoscopes, drop spindles, beeswax candles, paper corn husk dolls, harmonicas, sundials, and more!
STEAM Tours are available rain or shine, though may be rescheduled in extreme weather conditions. Not all spaces are wheelchair accessible and visitors should wear comfortable walking shoes as the tour encompasses visits to six historic buildings as well as gardens (seasonally).
Children must be accompanied by an adult and a discounted rate for parents/chaperones is offered; parent/chaperone admission does not include activities. Parent/Chaperone rate is only valid along with a minimum of one (1) STEAM Tour Admission $15.00.
