Storrowton’s Teen Leadership Experience is a place where youth who have completed grades 8-11 can experience 19th century trades in a hands-on setting for blacksmithing, textiles, cooking, small machines, and receive strengths-based leadership training. This program will show how these trades are still applicable in the 21st century and ways to continue exploring them after the workshops wrap. All sessions are taught by experienced historical and professional instructors and include time to meet a leader in the 21st century version of the field. Students will experience two program tracks in the first week and select one to focus on in the second week. The program runs July 29th- August 1st, 2025 (Tues to Fri) from 9:30am to 1:15pm.
Up to 12 students will be selected with a maximum of 6 students in each program track. West Springfield residents will receive priority consideration and will be selected on a rolling basis; all other applicants will be considered following the application deadline. Students completing 7th grade (or equivalent) may be considered on a case-by-case basis and must be 13 years old by the start date of the program to qualify.
